2014 The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Images

Images of three new The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug sets have been released. And I must say they are FANTASTIC! Of course, these sets should come with some fantastic price points as well. Fantastic for LEGO, not our wallets, that is.

79011 Dol Guldor Ambush. Minifigures: Beorn, Gundabad Orcs x2.
We finally see what Beorn will look like. Those of you that follow The Hobbit news sites should recall some leaked images of Beorn, but this set certainly gives us more to talk about. Whether Beorn is ambushed at Dol Guldor in the films remains to be seen.

See the other sets (which in my opinion only get better!) below! But keep in mind, this post contains Spoilers!

The back of the box for Ambush at Dol Guldor. Great play features, LEGO! You always surprise me with your knack for thinking up new features for sets.

79012 Mirkwood Elf Army. Minifigures: Thranduil, Mirkwood Elf Archers x2, Mirkwood Elf, Gundabad Orcs x2.
More great minifigures for you collectors! This set is pretty straightforward. Orcs attack elves. That's it.
However, included is a brown warg. Definitely a cool piece.

More original play features. I love Thranduil's crown piece. Unfortunately it looks to be a part of his hair and not an attachment. Stinks!

79014 Dol Guldor Battle. Minifigures: Radagast the Brown, Dumbledore- I mean Gandalf the Grey, Azog, The Necromancer, Gundabad Orcs x2.
The big burger is here! The epic showdown between the White Council and the Necromancer's forces.
It's a bad day to be one of those who dished out big bucks for an "exclusive" Azog figure. But if you sell it before anyone sees these new sets, you might be able to get a bit back... Sorry, not funny.
Take a good look at these sets, just in case LEGO makes me take them down.

More box art with more play features! There are some cool ones here actually. Like the catapult, and the dropping skeleton head, and the opening doors. Those should keep kids entertained for hours!

Thanks to Brickset for the info!
